“To live is to die,” he adds. “That was the agreement you made when you came into this world. You cannot have one without the other.”

Death stands. “All your life, all your suffering, all your loss—it was all for this.” He gestures to the dead around us, his wings spreading wide. “You all have been running towards me your entire life.”

Have you ever read a book where you wish it will just go on and on and on forever? Or where you wish it ends differently so it wont end no matter how bad the decision the characters have to make? I felt it all here while reading Death. I feel I aged, fell in love for the first time and rode a very thrilling roller coaster.

For people who have known me for so long, they will tell you about my obsession with the gods of death or even the devil itself. Though it might sound crazy I have always found that they have greater tales to tell. It might sound even crazier that I wish for them to always find happiness cause everyone deserves it. I might sound like a fool but death fascinates me, i have always thought its morbid but also beautiful. And now we got a book that is the perfect embodiment of death itself.

“His face is solemn and captivating. I swear that I’ve seen the arch of that brow and the slope of that nose before in my dreams. And I’ve imagined the curve of those lips, the press of those cheekbones, and the cut of that jaw in every tragic poem read by candlelight.

He is more beautiful than I can make sense of and more terrifying than I could’ve imagined.”

“Death steps up to me, and my breath catches. He’s a being that was never meant to be beheld this closely. He’s wretchedly beautiful”

Its safe to say that I was wrung out dry in so many different ways while savoring and devouring Death by Laura Thalassa and it saddens me but also makes me happy that this series has come to an end.

I have loved this series since Pestilence and I wish more people will read it. This series is the perfect example of "love can conquer all." In the first three books we got the "a single female can stop the apocalypse by boning a horsemen." But in this one it was much more complicated than that. Death prioritized his own duty more than anything else, more than our female protagonist Lazarus and more than what he felt for her.

I have to admit that amongst the three other books from this series which makes Pestilence my most favorite one before, i have to say that Death have dethroned him and he is now my most favorite. This book has thrown me into an endless battle of wills, all sorts of feelings and mystifying plot. Lauara has outdid herself again and gave us an amazing ending for this series. Im still not happy at how it ends but that is because i am selfish and I dont wanna let go of this series and wants it to go on and on.

I love the world building cause actually there's nothing much to it, its set during apocalypse and we all know we can picture and imagine that a lot. The writing style has been flawless as the first 3 books. There is more sexy time here which I have no complaints about cause each one is as beautiful as the others. And I love both Lazarus and Death. They have their own stubbornness cause they have their own selfish wants. I love how they went from being enemies (literally killing each other) to being closest confidant and lovers.

I cried rivers while reading this book that is what i have to say. And in every page you can feel that this book wants you to understand and that is "love" there are traces of it in every chapters, which I personally think is brilliant. Cause in the end its what saved them all, everyone in this book.

Overall I laughed, cried, got upset, got angry, annoyed, got to feel being in love for the very first time again, be scared. But most of all I enjoyed it and loved it. Definitely a 5 stars and highly recommended!
